To let the world know that magazines are a vital medium at
the leading edge of creative communications. Also, to promote
to companies the viability of magazines as an important advertising
We accomplished both of these objectives
by convincing The Today Show that we would present to a national
audience the latest and most innovative and visually appealing
POP-UP ads that had been appearing both nationally and internationally.
And...we brought the president of the Association to act as
spokesperson. The segment was one of the longest ever to appear
on The Today Show. We also arranged a lengthy Today Show segment
on illiteracy and the MPA's campaign against it.
